    Description

      COMMENT today!
      Please help! Excel is a sandboxed program & I need to import iODBC data! Tried all solutions, won't work. Also affects OpenSSL 1.1.
      RUNNING Excel for Mac (365)
      On mac os 12 (montrey) (since this MacBook can't run MacOS 13 or 14)
      Error on Excel:
      {{[iODBC][Driver Manager]dlopen(/Library/MariaDB/MariaDB-Connector-ODBC/libmaodbc.dylib, 0x0006): Library not loaded: '/usr/local/opt/openssl@1.1/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib'
      Referenced from: '/Library/MariaDB/MariaDB-Connector-ODBC/libmaodbc.dylib'
      Reason: tried: '/usr/local/opt/openssl@1.1/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib' (file system sandbox blocked open()), '/usr/local/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib' (no such file), '/usr/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib' (no such file)}}
      Note the curly brackets are issue, not included with the source error

            Thank you for your report.
            Is the file physically there? /usr/local/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib I mean. Because it says "No such file"
            This is openssl library that is used for encryption. Due to licensing issues we cannot bundle and distribute it. You can install it using Homebrew.
            I am not completely sure if that helps with sandbox, though.

            Do you mean that you've installed openssl and /usr/local/opt/openssl@1.1/lib/libssl.1.1.dylib is in place now?
