Description
If the ssl option is defined in an option file and is included via mariadb.connect(default_file='...'), it gets ignored.
It would be nice if the options which can go in an option file (and are recognized by CONPY) are documented.
Thanks for your bug report.
While configuration file settings are described in the knowledge base, they are not included in Connector/C (which is used by Connector/Python). Connector/Python should have a link to the option file configuration in Connector/C.
The option for establishing a tls connection is ssl_enforce=1
