During restore validation in SIT2, the restored MariaDB database entered an inconsistent state. Investigation identified issues involving the MariaDB system schema, specifically the mariadb.sys account and related system metadata.
Following the restore operation:
Database health checks reported inconsistencies.
mariadb.sys was missing/corrupted.
Authentication and user metadata operations were impacted.
Recovery activities were required with MariaDB Support assistance.
The issue required recreation of the mariadb.sys user and additional system object validation before the database became operational again.
