Description
Currently, it's possible to link to a particular release on the download site, for example:
https://downloads.mariadb.org/mariadb/11.1.3/
or (not preferred)
https://mariadb.org/download/?t=mariadb&p=mariadb&r=11.2.2
The latter is not preferred because it's both longer, and, more importantly, doesn't work when the release is moved to the archive. See for example:
https://downloads.mariadb.org/mariadb/11.1.0/
vs
https://mariadb.org/download/?t=mariadb&p=mariadb&r=11.1.0
It would also be good to be able to go to a release series, for example
https://downloads.mariadb.org/mariadb/11.1/
which should take one to the latest 11.1 release.
This would be a useful semi-automation for various links in the Knowledge Base, as well as the purple notices on the download site, which read "This is a short term release which is maintained for one year only. The latest long-term release is MariaDB 10.11, which is maintained for five years.", where the 10.11 links to a particular point release, and has to be updated each time.
