as an early adopter of Mariadb on Ubunutu I now find myself in danger because Ubuntu support is far from thourough.
There is no way people can keep up with Ubuntu updates (minor+majors) both desktop and server by "simply" adding a source in apt configuration files.
The Repository configuration tool documentation must be amended to include all necessary "pinning" information or advise for mariaddb packages in order to avoid permanent conflicts and binary damages that I (and others) keep going through (as per MDEV-3882 that I can't link to).
