    Description

      The changes made in MDEV-39287 introduced memory leaks in a number of tests. https://buildbot.mariadb.org/#/builders/1099/builds/5421 is an example:

      Too many failed: Failed 46/5365 tests, 99.14% were successful.
      		 
      Failing test(s): rpl.rpl_domain_id_filter_restart rpl.rpl_memory_engine_truncate_on_restart rpl.rpl_mdev12179 binlog_encryption.rpl_binlog_errors rpl.rpl_binlog_errors rpl.rpl_upgrade_master_info rpl.rpl_shutdown_sighup innodb.insert_into_empty

      I can reproduce this locally. git revert 31be75cbcbaf4eb0fd1a2f1fe1c9e8c59789c0b2 would fix this.
