cluster node hangs during shutdown if threadpool is used

Details

    Description

      with configuration of:

      thread_handling = pool-of-threads

      a cluster node may remain hanging during last steps of handling normal shutdown.
      There must be active connections in the node, while shutdown is started, and the shutdown operator apparently believes that there are still active connections, although all connections have been closed already.

            Reason for the hanging during shutdown is now known and a potential fix has been developed. Next step is to prepare a deterministic test for the issue and run full cluster testing on the fix proposal

            Hi Seppo Jaakola,

            Can we get the current status of this issue? Also, will we be getting this fix on the new minor version for 10.11.10(which will be 10.11.11) as we are seeing the same issue there too.

            techgeek from my side, this issue is fixed. A pull request (PR) containing the fix has been submitted to MariaDB and seems to be there in review queue atm. Common practise is to fix the issue in the oldest affected MariaDB version and once the reviewer has accepted the PR, it will be merged to all upper level versions as well.
