    Description

      The pxc_maint_mode variable in Percona XtraDB Cluster can be used with ProxySQL to gracefully remove nodes from routing. MariaDB could also provide a similar mechanism to which ProxySQL (and MaxScale after MXS-5237) could react. This would make it possible to gracefully put nodes into maintenance without having to interact with the proxies themselves.
