I do not think anyone here is familiar, or has used Norton Antivirus in the 18 or so years, since Windows Defender appeared. Moreover, what do you think we should do with it? If you use it, perhaps you know where to file bugs, so maybe you can do that, and describe what you see.

As some good it companies does,
Send new compiled binary(or hash/signature) package to vaccine company to be regitered that prevent use experience impact before the owner release the package.
And confirmed with the cowork vaccine companies, release the binary.
This is normal expected process not to make user environment critical impact.

You guys, especially you Valadislav, must have confident to prevent ANY of unexpected event at user space.
          Without that effort shown,
the MariaDB's market share will keep going down by that shown attitude on your text which public open.
Origianly expected respose was, "We didn;t know that and will find out what we can do."(and think in real or googling.) Your every response make people so disappointed.

I think this does not belong to us. We can't send our binaries to the companies we have no idea of. That Norton Antivirus from the last century, has changed owner from Norton to Symantec to Verisign to Gen, we can't track all of that. If they have bugs, it is their responsibility to fix them, and it is their user's responsibility to report where it belongs to. Not that their users make it our responsibility.

In rare cases, where it seems important, we are getting aware of the bugs. If Windows Defender does not work, it is part of the OS, so we have to act. If Windows Smart Screen does not like download, we might want to try something. We're dealing with "general" antivirus software if it occasionally opens files while we're working on it, and this may prevent rename or delete. That's what we do.

See "We can't, We don't, We can't, We don't" all negative expressiopn in your responses.. shame...
This is why your MariaDB's down spiral won't stop. sigh..(Unfortunatly, I'm also riding on it. damn).
          Be aware(and thank you),
you are marking yourself on the internet and IT history, the MariaDB is unsafe and unreliable
since you guys actually not care of user space situation by declare your position
who facing user direct. Close the issue.

FYI, of cause I have act the unexpected binary deletion by vaccine, because that was only way to make DB normal. Your entire 'exe' binaries in Bin folder (over 50), was all deleted.

For the record to the world, when the MariaDB released, people must do the below process that

          • Download new version > scan the MariaDB binary by using own server vaccine > if no problem, use it. > If there is deletion by vaccine occured > wait until any of vaccine people own, be registered as safe.

Closed the issue, per your request.

"For the record of the world", if someone is experiencing Antivirus false positivies, there is a site where you can report it (Alert ID etc), which for norton is this https://submissions.norton.com/reportfalsepositive#pc

You could have done it npdmailing@gmail.com, for the community service, this would be reporting bugs where it belongs to, but you chose not to.
