GLOBAL STATUS Memory_used deviates 10-fold

MariaDB [(none)]> show global status like 'memory_used';

whereas the process consumes 5G of RAM.

This is a different server but shows that memory management in MariaDB is somehow broken. This is related to #33390 where memory leaks cause frequent crashes of the server process.
