    Description

      Original MDEV-18841 was never fully finalized:

      ± grep -rF 'var/run/m' *
      		 
      cmake/systemd.cmake:          SET(SYSTEMD_EXECSTARTPRE "ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/install -m 755 -o mysql -g root -d /var/run/mysqld")

      Reported in https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=946825 and draft PR at https://github.com/MariaDB/server/pull/1105
