Description
Suggestion for LOAD DATA INFILE
I'd like to suggest that a COMMIT=n (where n>=0) parameter be added to LOAD DATA INFILE to match Oracle's IMP COMMIT=Y BUFFER=n functionality.
With the suggestion, COMMIT=0, would be the default and commit only when the LOAD DATA INFILE completes. Otherwise, LOAD DATA INFILE would commit after each set of n lines are processed.
This is extremely useful when dealing with data being loaded to columnstore, data that is frequently over a billion rows, too big for a single transaction.
