    Description

      MariaDB [test]> CREATE TABLE t1 (i INT, f INT AS (i) VIRTUAL);
      		 
      Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.44 sec)
      		 
       
      		 
      MariaDB [test]> ALTER TABLE t1 MODIFY COLUMN f INT;
      		 
      ERROR 1907 (HY000): This is not yet supported for generated columns

      "This" is really vague.

      MySQL is somewhat better at it:

      3106: 'Changing the STORED status' is not supported for generated columns
