      $ ./bin/mysqlbinlog -vvv ./data/retsina-bin.000003 | mysql
      		 
      ERROR 1575 (HY000) at line 85: Decoding of base64 string failed

            Reproducible with any combination of mysqlbinlog 10.0/10.1/10.2 and server 10.0/10.1/10.2.

            The issue is base64_decode is not comment aware , so it happens in all mariadb versions
