Engaged OpenWRT about some of their patches.
        https://github.com/openwrt/packages/tree/master/utils/mariadb/patches

        • made MDEV-35850 as a result of one of their patches.
        • might need a selinux disable option rather than a patch
        • trying to get to the bottom of 210-no-altivec.patch - appears to be a compile error (this if for Power 5) on one of their old router platforms.
        • showed which patches can be removed. Offered other suggestions.

And muslc C based testing would be much appreciated as that's what they use.

GNUisms in PPC code, not explicitly ours, is quite common.
