    Description

      Error seen by users:

      2022-06-16 22:44:55   warning: [mariadbmon] Query 'SET STATEMENT max_statement_time=3 FOR SET GLOBAL read_only=1;' timed out on 'rock4'. Retrying with 3.0 seconds left.
      		 
      2022-06-16 22:44:58   error  : [mariadbmon] Failed to enable read_only on 'rock4': Query 'SET STATEMENT max_statement_time=3 FOR SET GLOBAL read_only=1;' failed on 'rock4': 'Query execution was interrupted (max_statement_time exceeded)' (1969).
      		 
      2022-06-16 22:44:58   error  : [mariadbmon] Switchover rock4 -> rock1 failed.

      I believe the only way to do this is to force users off of the database by killing connections.
