    Description

      Would allowing configuring Gtid_IO_pos to mirror non-GTID mode having master_log_file/pos be useful?

      MDEV-4698 fixes Gtid_IO_pos to be able to recover from a shutdown (graceful or crash), so persistence will not be required.
      In fact, crash-safe persistence would be undesirable as this crash safety would incur a runtime overhead.
      (@@master_info_file, which saves IO thread configurations, is not crash safe in GTID mode.)
