libclientmariadb.18 not found after 10.2 install

To reproduce we install MariaDB 10.2 repo on Jessy 64 bit
Install most MariaDB packages via apt-get

apt-get install sphinxsearch
Produce a valid sphinx configuration

sphinx indexer refuse to start lacking libclientmariadb.18

We have running out of time on the engagement , and would like to know if this can be reproduce or a mistake on our side by lack of installing good packages. Me usage in such scenario was to look for some compat package and installl that , but here found nothing for fixing
