 Description   

MaxScale is plugin based and can support different protocols. However, currently routers that in principle could be protocol agnostic are still quite aware of the MySQL protocol.

The information that routers need to know about the protocol should be provided via an abstraction API so that the same routers can be used with protocols that are similar but not identical.

Identify the information needs of routers and create an protocol neutral API using which that information can be obtained.
