 Description

While we are selecting a schema, we are doing the double click on the schema and selecting the schema. But it's working fine in few browsers like Mozilla but not working properly in the google browser. But if we use external mouse its working but using laptop touch pad it's not working properly. Can we have a single click option instead of double click would be good and user friendly. Seems laptop touch pad clicks are not working properly with query editor.

Auto expand schema node if the user double-clicks on the schema name.

So the double-click doesn't work when using the touchpad?

Comment by Naresh Chandra [ 2022-10-27 ]

Yes Duong. and instead, double click, can we expect simple one single click.

Comment by Duong Thien Ly [ 2022-10-27 ]

Currently, a single click is used for expanding the node. So instead of clicking the expand button, clicking on the name of the node will also expand it.

Is it schema or node, I am not getting you. and if we select schema then can't we auto expand tables tree, again we have to expand the schema structure and then expand the table tree structure.

1. Double click on the schema
2. Expand the schema
3. Expand the tables

It's very longer process, why can't we auto expand the schema and tables when we use schema or select schema? User feels it's very quick access and he can run queries quickly.

Auto expand tables tree isn't efficient. Imagine you have 1000 tables, selecting a schema (expand a schema node) would take time to finish. If the user wants to see all tables in a schema, they'll have to click the "Tables" node to show all tables.

When the user double-clicks the schema to set it as an active schema, we can auto-expand it to review the "Tables" and "Stored Procedures" nodes, would this be something you are interested in?

Btw, have you double-checked the double-click issue on your touchpad? Mine is working fine. When you double-click it, does it expand the schema node?

I dont after logout and login its working fine. Not sure why its behaving it.

>> When the user double-clicks the schema to set it as an active schema, we can auto-expand it to review the "Tables" and "Stored Procedures" nodes, would this be something you are interested in?
– Yes Duong, expecting auto tables and proc's expand. Any how, if we expand then automatically all the tables will load within the schema, so thats why I am asking you when we select schema then automatically tables and other attributes should be loaded within the schema only.

Okay, then this is not a bug. I'll change it to a feature request.

Comment by Naresh Chandra [ 2022-10-27 ]

Okay Sure. But can you please try to improvise with one click, instead of double click.

Comment by Naresh Chandra [ 2022-10-27 ]

Duong, can we do single click instead of double click. Are there any challenges to do that change?

Comment by Duong Thien Ly [ 2022-10-27 ]

Assume the user set schema "test" as the active one, but they also want to explore tables on other schemas, a single click would set other schemas as the active. This is a conflict. We shouldn't bine two effects with an action

Anyhow both the schema will expand the tables right, in that case it doesn't matter either its single or double click right? if user wants to compare two schemas, then definitely, he would have used another query tab.

Comment by Duong Thien Ly [ 2022-10-27 ]

Well, we can't assume that the user would create another query tab. Anyway, if there is a similar request from other users. We'll consider it. Thank you for your feedback.

Okay Sure. Thanks for the update.
