Alpine Linux 3.13.0

Sprint: MXS-SPRINT-136

 Description

Hi,
according to installation guide using a tarball there's a step to modify directory var:

$ sudo groupadd maxscale
$ sudo useradd -g maxscale maxscale
$ cd /usr/local
$ sudo tar -xzvf maxscale-x.y.z.OS.tar.gz
$ sudo ln -s maxscale-x.y.z.OS maxscale
$ cd maxscale
$ sudo chown -R maxscale var

However there's no directory var in the tarball.

This means I have downloaded a wrong tarball.

Can you please advise where to download tarball maxscale-2.5.11.OS.tar.gz?

tarball builds are working at least for 2.5 - I can see them at our CI server https://mdbe-ci-repo.mariadb.net/Maxscale/maxscale-2.5.12-release/bintar/

on production download site: https://downloads.mariadb.com/MaxScale/latest/bintar/ or https://downloads.mariadb.com/MaxScale/2.5.13/bintar/

2.5.11 bintars are missing for aarch64, but latest are available, e.g. https://downloads.mariadb.com/MaxScale/latest/bintar/debian/buster/aarch64/ , https://downloads.mariadb.com/MaxScale/2.5.13/bintar/debian/buster/x86_64/maxscale-2.5.13.debian.buster.tar.gz

You can find the tarball packages at the Show All Files link on the MariaDB downloads page for MaxScale. There, search for the packages with a path that starts with bintar.
