To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MariaDB root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:

'/opt/mariadb/mysql/bin/mysqladmin' -u root password 'new-password'
'/opt/mariadb/mysql/bin/mysqladmin' -u root -h dpgap02v password 'new-password'

Alternatively you can run:
'/opt/mariadb/mysql/bin/mysql_secure_installation'

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default. This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

See the MariaDB Knowledgebase at http://mariadb.com/kb or the
MySQL manual for more instructions.

You can start the MariaDB daemon with:
cd '/opt/mariadb/mysql' ; /opt/mariadb/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe --datadir='/opt/mariadb/mysql/data'

You can test the MariaDB daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd '/opt/mariadb/mysql/mysql-test' ; perl mysql-test-run.pl

Please try service mariadb status instead of service mysql status. If it works, then it's a duplicate of bug report MDEV-9227, try to upgrade to a recent version.

If service mariadb status also does not work, please
1) check if mysqld process runs
2) run sudo systemctl status mariadb and paste the output
3) check the journal and MariaDB error log for errors.

I have done successful installation of MariaDB as I have started my DB with mysql safe command
and its working fine, I came to know that commands are changed in RHEL 7 to start mysql services to systemctl.

Thanks for updating on my post.

Ciao
Anil

Closing as a duplicate of MDEV-9227, as that's the only problem that I can see in this bug description.
