From a knowledge base URL, say https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/server-system-variables/, the login page https://mariadb.com/kb/user/login?next=/kb/en/mariadb/server-system-variables/ shows user/password or deprecated openid url. When I did a github registration (https://mariadb.com/user/register) I didn't set a password. Can the login page kb/user/login provide the same logins as: After doing a login on https://mariadb.com/user/login using 'connect to github' it shows me as logged in (logout/my portal/profile) on header, until I go back to the KB https://mariadb.com/kb/en/ it doesn't show up as logged in " Blog Login Signup" in header. Can the single signon extend from the main site to the KB? |

Editing and saving: https://mariadb.com/user/XXXXX/edit
Email address was obtained though github API on registration right? Was the policy now not to enforce these other fields? The evaluation agreement is enforced to yes on this page. and for a feature request - is having a tickbox for the MCA (https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/mca/) acceptable here? (I don't know if the foundation wants this but just and idea).

Hey Daniel, Sorry for the confusion on all of this. 1. Github / other logins do not work on the KB yet. The SSO system will add support for this but was delayed due to the issues with mandatory fields. 2. Removing those fields / making them optional was grouped in with some larger website changes so unfortunately has not gone live yet. I'd actually like to roll the SSO system out this week but was waiting on the changes to those fields. However, since you can signup with github (which all core contributors should have) I'm not sure if we need to wait. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for knowing about them and having them fixed in waiting. Yes it looks like the SSO is independent of the other changes and editing a profile isn't something required. Up to you if you roll it out now or wait until other field changes are complete. Cheers bryan

Hi Daniel, I just rolled out the new SSO so you should be able to signin with your github account. Please give it a try and let me know how it works for you. Thanks!

https://mariadb.com/kb/user/login/?next=%2Fkb%2Fen%2F&ticket=ST-4tATPYgfEh 403 - Forbidden - Login failed. After logging out of the main site I got the same error. I checked https://github.com/settings/applications and mariadb.com is still listed as an Authorized application

Hmmm, looks like there was a problem with some github accounts and interaction with the KB. I believe I have solved this, please try again when you have a chance. It might not link correctly with your existing KB account but I can solve that once you login.

seemed to link to the groover_g account that I created with github a few weeks ago seemlessly. Nice! If you have time to link that to my previous work (was that what you where saying?) I'd be grateful however its not expected. Thanks bryan

Happy to do it for you. Now when I link them it will use your username from our main website, grooverdan_g in the KB. If you like I can update your username on our main website to "daniel-black" (same as the KB). Just let me know which one you prefer.
