A Debian user pointed out that the man pages seem outdated. Most of them are labeled MySQL 5.1 and at least some of them contain outdated information. See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=779992 Man pages should be reviewed and updated to make sure they are as current as they can be. |

I can see that, at the very least, the pages are indeed marked as "Source: MySQL 5.1", even in 10.1. I'm not sure what should be the exact process of synchronizing them with up-to-date MariaDB documentation. |

This is related to It's probably best for now to use the updated mysql versions, if that's possible. |

These have been updated for 10.0. Not going to fix for 5.5, as there were a lot of 10.0-specific changes in the pages, and it's not worth going through to remove these for the old stable version. |

greenman Thanks! Yes, don't fix for 5.5. Only 10.0 and 10.1 are relevant. The bug in Debian is about 10.0 contents. |

Note: this is not just a bug in Debian documentation.
I also agree that given 10.0 is the current release it does not make much sense in fixing this for older versions, so resolving this in 10.0 and later seems fine. |
