 Description   

We see the same error as described (and fixed for some versions <= 10.5.x) in MDEV-25714 on MariaDB 10.6.5.

Test case and description was already included in MDEV-25714 but I don't know if a new issue is required, or I should have re-opened that issue, or create this new issue...

I repeated the bug with the test case, that was provided in MDEV-25714 by Daniel Howard,
it is fixed by the commit 00412656719bba by Igor Bababev (https://github.com/MariaDB/server/commit/00412656719bba79cf9a350db05065b0b7007680), MDEV-27510, will be included in the next release

(In case you have automated release tests, you might want to consider including Daniels steps Reading through various tickets it appears that this problem reared its ugly head for more than one version.)
