Description: The problem:
When an SST is started on a server, but the server still contains old data, old table files will all be removed. If you have a very large number of tables (we have 100K+) and a large number of data (we have 1.5TB+), this removal process puts an incredible strain on the machine, even if it is a very fast machine with very fast I/O. This can cause time-out/downtime issues for a few seconds if the machine is also running another service, such as a proxy server.
