 Description   

SELECT ST_EQUALS( GEOMETRYFROMTEXT(' MULTILINESTRING( (3 5, 2 5, 2 4, 3 4, 3 5) ) ') , GEOMETRYFROMTEXT(' POLYGON( (3 5, 2 5, 2 4, 3 4, 3 5) ) ') )

returns true in MariaDB and false in PostGIS. Seems to me that even though the same points are involved, MULTILINESTRING can not be equal to a POLYGON
