Instead of having this crazy slow method of downloading the Knowledge Base:
https://mariadb.com/kb/en/meta/mirroring-the-mariadb-knowledge-base/

Would it be possible that you provide a simple ZIP/TAR of the documentation for others to download?

I assume that the mirror is served by many HTML pages and static files, therefore I also assume that it's not hard to ZIP those snapshot files.

Running a crawler against your mirror server and taking hours to download the mirror......... is definitely not the ideal solution

Seems it is now possible to download a PDF here: https://mariadb.org/mariadbserverpdf/

Can't find a link on the Knowledge Base site, though!

I think I found it once, but I'm struggling to find it again

Since there's a PDF version of the documentation, there's probably no need for the ZIP? I've added to the link to the PDF download on https://mariadb.com/kb/en/meta/mirroring-the-mariadb-knowledge-base/ - it's also available in various other places on the KB, such as https://mariadb.com/kb/en/documentation/ and https://mariadb.com/kb/en/dont-you-have-pdf-version-document/

greenman Thanks! Yeah, no need for ZIP. The PDF is great.

It is, however, really not intuitive how to download the Documentation PDF when you are here: https://mariadb.org/download/

Took me a good while to figure out that I should look at the sidebar!!
(the focus of that page is to download the Server, not the Documentation)
