Hi,
Alan Krempler reported an issue with python-mysqldb package and Peter Pentchev kindly proposed a patch for the mysql_real_connect() function (as problem seems to come from it).

Please see the #921599 Debian bug report that I am linking to this issue.

Hi Faustin,

can you please check if latest commit into 3.0 branch will fix this issue? It seemspatch is a duplicate of pull request #101 from Cory Hickey, which didn't make it into last version.
