This is the exact bug present in MariaDB: https://jira.percona.com/browse/PXC-1127 If user and password are present under [client], xtrabckup-v2 SST fails. |

xtrabackup is not usable for backup in 10.3 and based on our history this fix has already being merged to MariaDB. You should use mariabackup in 10.3 i.e. wsrep_sst_mariabackup |
