 Description

we switched sst_methode from rsync to mariabackup. and then sst failed.
IMHO galera package should contain dependency on socat otherwise it break and you see it only in case off sst months later.
further you should be interested in making mariabackup sst method working smoothly?

serg, should we consider changes in packaging for future versions, like we discussed before, so that Galera-related stuff is only installed by people who actually need Galera, but then all dependencies would be automatically pulled?

You mean, just an empty package with dependencies?
How fine-grained should it be? See in the bug description

so sst was working just fine without socat. That is, galera users don't always need socat. And even if someone uses sst_method mariabackup, even then netcat is an option.
