To reproduce we install MariaDB 10.2 repo on Jessy 64 bit apt-get install sphinxsearch sphinx indexer refuse to start lacking libclientmariadb.18 We have running out of time on the engagement , and would like to know if this can be reproduce or a mistake on our side by lack of installing good packages. Me usage in such scenario was to look for some compat package and installl that , but here found nothing for fixing Our point of contact is me or somanos@drumee.com |

Yes, debian maintainers renamed the client library to libmariadbclient in their packages, in mariadb.org packages it is called libmariadb. Try to install libmariadbclient from debian repositories. |
