Does it run for you on non-Xen?
The exception that is being thrown is in the install log, "mysqld got exception 0xc000001d ". This is STATUS_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION, which is rather an unusual crash.

Tested on VMware instead. Install completes without any problem.

wlad, please close if it's not MariaDB problem.

I have no idea how to deal with it, currently. It seems to be a Xen problem. We use VS2013 compiler, and no assembly I know of.

hailstorm if you would like me to understand the problem better and maybe investigate further, you can do following : install without Database instance.

Enable WER crashdumps, and get a mysqld.exe crashdump from e.g

mysqld --help
Hopefully this one already crashes, if not you can try to install using mysql_install_db.exe like here
https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/mysql_install_dbexe/ (this should crash , as this is the tool used by the installation)
