 Description   

i have installed maria db . but when i try to start by issuing command

sudo systemctl start mariadb.service

it gives me an error .

Job for mariadb.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mariadb.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

i have tried re-install but same issue persist every time

Did you try to see systemctl status mariadb.service and journalctl -xe, as the message suggests? What do they say?
Which MariaDB version is it?

MariaDB currently maintains 4 parallel branches, each of which has a latest release, which also changes regularly. Please paste the output of
dpkg -l | grep -iE 'mysql|maria'.

And please run and paste the output of

systemctl status mariadb.service 
journalctl -xe

right after the failure, just like the error message suggests!
Without it, we won't be able to proceed, and will have to close the issue as incomplete.
