The MariaDB Docker Official image for 11.0 / 11.1 (and therefore "latest") does not install the symlinks packages for mysql compatibility. This breaks some third party applications. |

Kicked back to me to stall for now. The PR is available at: https://github.com/MariaDB/mariadb-docker/pull/514 Whilst it wasn't intentional to do this now, unless it breaks a real world use case that can't be corrected easily, we will likely leave it how it is. |

After discussions and a blog post we have published, we have made sure that it is known that this behaviour is intentional. Closing as "Won't Fix". |
