Status: Closed
Project: MariaDB ColumnStore
Component/s: cpimport, MariaDB Server
Affects Version/s: 1.0.11
Fix Version/s: Icebox

Type: Bug Priority: Critical

Environment:

ubuntu 16.04 multiserver environment 1x um 4x pm

 Description

After a successfull cpimport, the table seems to be empty.
Select count(1) from table and slect * from table limit 100; both indicate that the table is empty.
We tried loading the data again with the same result.
After stopping and then starting the system (mcsadmin stopsystem/mcsadmin startsystem)
The table shows the correct number of rows and query against it return data.
Any idea what might cause this?
I dont think we ever experienced that in our testing before.

This is not something i've seen before either. Are there any errors in the debug.log on each PM around the time of cpimport to restart? It would also be helpful if you can send the columnstore support report to us for further investigation:
https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/system-troubleshooting-mariadb-columnstore/#mariadb-columnstore-support-tool

You can either attach here or send me directly.

The debug.log shows alerts about the disk usage beeing above the configured thresholds, no idea if that could cause this.
But other than that i have not seen anything that looks like an error.
I have send the support report to you email.

There was some communication offline and we were never able to get a point of reproducing this so closing for now as not actionable.
