[MCOL-4135] Installing server and engine at same time fails in 10.5 Created: 2020-06-30  Updated: 2020-11-12  Resolved: 2020-07-10

Status: Closed
Project: MariaDB ColumnStore
Component/s: N/A
Affects Version/s: 1.5.3
Fix Version/s: 5.4.1

Type: Bug Priority: Critical
Reporter: Todd Stoffel (Inactive) Assignee: Ben Thompson (Inactive)
Resolution: Fixed Votes: 0
Labels: None

Sprint: 2020-8

 Description

Example:

yum -y install MariaDB-server MariaDB-columnstore-engine

Results in a Columnstore install error. However by running ...

yum -y install MariaDB-server

followed by

yum -y install MariaDB-columnstore-engine

does work. We need to have this executed properly either way.

Build tested: 1.5.3-1 first build from staging server

commit: 20e131299ded9fa090cad34e62c6287672c6f0cb

1) Installation from Repo
setup a local repo and installed server and engine in one command.

2) Installation from local RPM packages
After installing the dependency packages, installed server and engine rpm files

Both installed successfully.

Are we sure this is still happening? @Ben Thompson advised that this was a transient issue with maturity levels mascarading as installation problem. And that @Daniel Lee has re-tested it and it was all fine?

Per test result above, it is no longer an issue. Closing it.
