Description

Was added in 10.5 (https://github.com/MariaDB/server/commit/4bc31a904f22) but not backport.

Distros building off mariadb client packages connecting to MySQL-8.0 servers aren't connecting. ~~CONC-312~~ aimed to alleviate this problem.
