Description
The command line tool mysql currently has three modes of operation WRT to handling the -p command line argument:
1. No -p provided at all.
2. Plain -p provided.
3. -p provided with password.
Unfortunately, only the first and second mode of operation can be automated using $HOME/.my.cnf.
I'd like to propose a new option for .my.cnf, called password-prompt, so I can specify that I always want to be asked for my password.
