Description
MySQL stopped including mysql.server and mysqld_safe startup scripts in RPM distributions in 5.7+ due to the widespead use of systemd on these OSes:
"For MySQL installation using an RPM distribution, server startup and shutdown is managed by systemd on several Linux platforms. On these platforms, mysql.server and mysqld_safe are no longer installed because they are unnecessary."
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/mysql-server.html
Perhaps we should consider making the same change, unless there is some reason we should not.
